Standing among the Huskarls of a Nords force is a mark of trust, earned through years of loyal service, and the Thegn is the man chosen to lead them. In Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings, his job is to hold the shield line firm rather than hunt for personal glory, giving the army's more aggressive units a steady wall to advance from.
